Pass Plus Driving Courses

When you pass your driving test, you are now legally able to safely drive on the UK road network. However, you remain an inexperienced driver and have yet to discover various situations on the road. Statistics show that 20% of new drivers will be involved in some form of accident on the road within their first year. That’s why it is vital to gain as much experience as quickly as possible. Pass Plus driving courses provide the ideal opportunity to gain this much needed experience.

What is Pass Plus?

Pass Plus is a driving course designed by the Driving Standards Agency (DSA), with the help of the motor insurance and driving instruction industries. It enables new drivers to gain experience in a variety of different situations and driving conditions on the road which are not covered in normal driving lessons.

Benefits of Pass Plus Training

Pass Plus will build upon your existing skills and knowledge, it will teach you how to anticipate, plan for and deal with all kinds of hazards, and can help you to become more confident on the roads. A key benefit is that driving insurance companies often take Pass Plus in to consideration when setting your insurance premium – often reducing it significantly if you have Pass Plus under your belt!

Pass Plus is made up of six practical modules which include:

  • Driving in town
  • Driving in all weathers
  • Driving on rural roads
  • Driving at night
  • Driving on dual carriageways
  • Driving on motorways

Anyone who holds a full UK licence is eligible to take part in the scheme. You will not have to take a test at the end of the course but you will be continually assessed. You must successfully complete all the modules in the course to an achieved or exceeded standard. If you live in the Poole conurbation area Poole Council are currently offering £75 towards the cost of the course.

Cost of the Course is £180 for the Six hours if in the instructors car or £160 if the clients car is used.
